| Zephyr UAV exceeds official world record for longest unmanned flight |
QinetiQ's Zephyr High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) has exceeded the official world record time for the longest duration unmanned flight with a 54-hour flight achieved during trials at the US Military's White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The flight trials were funded through the Ministry of Defence (MOD) research programme.

| QinetiQ unveils Sentry - unmanned reconnaissance and surveillance craft |
Sentry, a fast unmanned reconnaissance and surveillance craft developed by QinetiQ for the defence market, brings together military design requirements with a compact water-jet-propelled platform. Sentry is designed to deal with a variety of mission roles including remote unmanned harbour patrol and security, battlefield reconnaissance and damage assessment along with intruder investigation.

| QinetiQ fits Talon® robots with weapons for demo of SWORDS |
The Talon® family of versatile robots, produced by Foster-Miller, a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ North America, can be remotely operated from up to a kilometre away. The armed SWORDS variant, which was unveiled at the DSEi exhibition in September, is configured with either an M240 or M249 machine gun or a Barrett .50 calibre rifle for armed reconnaissance missions.
