RED establishing safe entry |
A Re-entry Evaluation Detector (RED) has been developed by QinetiQ
to establish when it is safe to re-enter a sealed compartment
after a fire. By analysing the gases inside the compartment,
RED provides detailed information about the state of a fire
so that decisions can be made on when to re-open the compartment.
The detector not only improves safety, but also speeds up the
re-entry process.
