The muffled sounds of on-board music and announcements can be some of the most irritating and distracting noises around.

On 27 May, National Noise Action Day, QinetiQ celebrated the success of NXT flat panel speaker technology, which uses existing aircraft fittings to produce high quality sound reproduction for cabin announcements and other on-board audio requirements.

StableEyes technology scooped two prestigious industry awards at the 2004 IFSEC Security Awards in Birmingham on 10 May.

StableEyes is the brainchild of the Imagery and Surveillance experts, winning the Best New Product and Overall Winner Awards at the event.

The system uses the very latest image processing technology to stabilise shaky video imagery - a major problem with outdoor CCTV.
