Further US acquisition

QinetiQ has agreed to purchase ITS Corporation. The company specialises in providing IT systems, business process management and operational support to federal government customers including the US Army, Navy and Department of Homeland Security.

QinetiQ has also signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire Analex Corporation in the US. Analex specialises in providing innovative information technology, aerospace engineering and security and intelligence support services for defence, intelligence and space programmes.

The companies will provide QinetiQ with new customers and contract opportunities as well as broadening the range of service offerings to the existing customer base of the Group.

Demonstrating amphibious technology
Demonstrating amphibious technology

QinetiQ has been awarded a four-year MOD contract to design, construct and carry out test and evaluation trials on a technology demonstrator vessel, which will be a contender for the next generation of fast landing craft.

The build of the technology demonstrator will be subcontracted to the marine industry through competitive tender. If selected, the high speed Partial Air Cushion Supported CATamaran vessel (PACSCAT) will be used to support future amphibious operations.

Providing Through Life Support

QinetiQ provides support to the MOD across a diverse number of programmes that includes the acquisition of defence equipment and the subsequent management for the through life cycle of the equipment. QinetiQ was recently awarded a contract extension worth £7m to continue the provision of technical support to the MOD's Defence Fuels Group (DFG) for fuels and lubricants and a £4m, two-year enabling contract by Combat Support Equipment IPT (CSEIPT) to manage the quality and supply of a range of commercially available batteries.
