| QinetiQ agrees to purchase two Australian defence consulting companies |
On 2 January 2008, QinetiQ signed agreements to purchase two Australian defence consulting businesses, Ball Solutions Group Pty Ltd and Novare Services Pty Ltd. They represent QinetiQ's first investment in Australia and provide the company with a presence of 185 staff located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

| World's first in-engine test gives Rolls-Royce the competitive edge |
For the first time, Rolls-Royce can now overcome extreme temperatures and pressures to gather accurate performance data from deep inside its gas turbine aero-engines. The solution is a revolutionary traverse test system devised by QinetiQ and it gives Rolls-Royce a clear advantage in the quest for leaner, greener flight.

| QinetiQ LOKI underwater countermeasures solution for Norwegian Navy |
QinetiQ has shipped the first consignment of LOKI torpedo countermeasures to Bergen for the Royal Norwegian Navy as part of a supply and ongoing support contract worth over €4 million. LOKI rounds are designed to provide protection against torpedo attack for the new Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen class frigates and were first successfully and extensively tested in live firings during October in Portland Harbour.

| QinetiQ awards its inventors |
On 6 December 2007, the first presentation ceremony of the new QinetiQ Inventors Awards Scheme was held. Hosted by Sir John Chisholm, Chairman of QinetiQ, 19 awards were presented to 16 inventors from across the company. Special guest was Anne Glover, Chief Executive of Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd.

| Rt. Hon. John Denham MP addresses at the annual QinetiQ lecture |
The Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, the Rt. Hon. John Denham MP, addressed leading Midland scientists and business technology experts at the annual QinetiQ lecture at the University of Worcester on 14 December 2007. The lecture provided an opportunity to hear the Secretary of State's views on what changes could be made to facilitate the process of transforming today's inventions and intellectual property into tomorrow's products and services.

| MOD healthy eating guide for new recruits |
Dr Anna Casey, QinetiQ nutrition expert, has compiled a guide for the MOD to provide information aimed at persuading new recruits to eat more healthily. The booklet explores the issue of choosing the right foods to stay healthy and fit, cope more easily with the physical demands of military training and operations, and reducing the chances of being injured.

| QinetiQ says farewell with last ever UK Jaguar flight |
Thursday 20 December 2007 was a historic day for aviation enthusiasts as XX833, which for the past six months was the only flying UK military registered Jaguar left in service, took its last flight, marking the end of an era for Jaguar flying in UK. The last of the RAF's Jaguars were all retired during the summer.

Dr Dolores Byrne, with a twenty-five year career in defence technology, and who has inspired others to follow careers in science and engineering, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2008 New Year's Honours List.

Roger Stokes' lifelong dedication to the development of military aircraft navigation systems over a career that has spanned more than 40 years has been rewarded with an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year's Honours List.

| The Pacific International Maritime Exposition 2008 - Sydney, Australia |
This event, from 29 January to 1 February 2008, is a major international maritime, naval and defence-related event in the region. It will be the first event that QinetiQ has attended together with Ball Solutions Group Pty Ltd, and Novare Services Pty Ltd prior to the completion of acquisition. QinetiQ will be promoting consulting services and also exhibiting Talon robot platforms.

| Intersec Middle East - Dubai |
The event was held on 13 to 15 January 2008 and focussed on four key areas: commercial security, fire and rescue, safety and health, and homeland security and policing. QinetiQ exhibited Talon robot platforms.
