QinetiQ has secured a five-year Indefinite Duration, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the US Military, for the supply of our Vehicle Lightweight Arresting Device (VLAD), the US military designation for the X-Net®system. X-Net® is a man-portable spike and net system that when deployed in the path of a vehicle, will bring it to a complete standstill typically within 75 metres. Traditional roadside arresting systems - which use hollow spikes to puncture tyres - can often fail to stop the vehicle completely.
