Certificate
in Information Security Management Principles 30 Jan - 3rd Feb
06 |
Based in Malvern, QinetiQ's Information Security Training provides
key personnel with the skills to safeguard their organisations
systems and information.
Securing information and maintaining effective security practice
within an organisation is vital not just for peace of mind,
but for ensuring business continuity and compliance with industry
best practice. This 5 day course is designed to provide a sound
grounding in security management principles for individuals
who have security responsibility as part of their day to day
role, or who are thinking of moving into a security-related
function. It also provides the opportunity for those already
within these roles to enhance or refresh their knowledge and
in the process gain an industry-recognised qualification.
This course is accredited by British Computer Society (BCS),
Information Systems Examining Board (ISEB) and involves a 2
hour examination. If you pass you will obtain a certificate
from the BCS. Please note that you can choose not to complete
the examination and attend as a delegate only.

Wireless networks are becoming widely adopted in the commercial
and personal world and provide dramatic increases in efficiency
and mobility with corresponding cost benefits. However, security
concerns and doubts over unauthorised access, network vulnerabilities
and external attacks have led to a lower take up of these technologies
for higher security systems.
The QinetiQ Xcept™ Zone secure wireless access solution
removes these doubts and allows Government and commercial use
of wireless networks for RESTRICTED information based on commercial
off the shelf equipment. Integrating robust wireless security
with QinetiQ's tried and trusted enterprise solutions enables
a secure system that can be accredited as part of an enterprise
network.
The Connected Carriage™ system delivers broadband connectivity
to moving trains and acts as an enabling platform for a variety
of secure services. Security services include CCTV linked to
on-board recording equipment, displayed on the train manager's
PDA, or uplinked to the train company's operations centre. Customer
services include public Internet access via Wi-Fi enabled laptops,
media content delivered to laptops or on-board display screens
and customer information services, including real-time location
and timetable information.

What do these look like?
