| Training Aviation Security Personnel |
The effectiveness of scanning equipment depends on the interpretation of the results. QinetiQ has developed a unique Data Management and Interpretation Software Tool for Threat Image Projection Systems (TIP-DMIST).
The system quickly converts TIP data into an easily interpretable form, providing information to airport Security Managers about system-wide performance as well as data on the performance of individual screeners.

| Vehicle Arresting Device Improves Safety |
Arresting suspect vehicles is a serious challenge for law enforcement agencies. The aim - to reduce the risk of accidents to motorists and pedestrians involving high-speed police pursuits. The most widely used systems for stopping vehicles only retard the vehicle progress or, alternatively, require semi-fixed installations.
The QinetiQ X-NetTM system is a new portable device for stopping vehicles. The device is made up of spikes and a net. When the vehicle drives over it, the spikes embed in the tyres and the net wraps around the wheels stopping the vehicle immediately.
